Food Thoughts All The Time! What A Burden I Have!

Anyone can carry his burden, however heavy, until nightfall.  Anyone can do his work, however hard, for one day.  Anyone can live sweetly, patiently, lovingly, purely, till the sun goes down and that is all that life really means. (Robert Louis Stevenson)

It has been a burden to hold back extra eating when I know that it is more important to eat just enough to stay healthy and not eat more that what it is needed to survive.  That is the burden that I find.  When I master this burden - I am sure that I will be better off!

The Next Senior Prom Outfit

If you happen to have extra time to spare, please, look at the next senior prom outfit.  It is black and silver.  I will use it to help me get back on track - since too much cake has caused a little struggle for me.  Thanks for your motivational messages.  By the way - the next senior prom is May 17th.  I will jog more, drink more water, use my hoola hoop, dance more, eat more fresh fruit and vegetables…..and no more cake for 27 days.  Bye! (You will find the outfit in my Photo section.)

The 60th Finally Arrived!

My 60th birthday was April 16th and I have been celebrating since.  Too much cake has passed through my mouth and I am back to business, again.  I have to get ready for the next Senior Prom for seniors.  I will share the picture for my next prom, soon.  Well, you will see the dress I wore for the ballroom dance when we celebrated the April birthdays on my page.  Let me know what you think!  Yes, I did make it and I decorated my shoes to match.

Count Down Until My 60th Birthday - 12 days to go!

Well, I will have to change some things on my profile in 12 days, because I am getting older.  My younger days will no longer be.  I will have to start acting my age.  I will have to stop my tap class, stop my belly dance class, stop my hula class, stop my line dance class, stop my ball-room dance class (or maybe, keep this one going!)  I should get rid of my sexy jeans!  I should let my hair turn into gray and no longer use anymore hair color.  Instead of getting up early and going out to jog - how about sleeping in more hours.  That’s what I should do!  If I start acting my age, the weight might slip up on me, again.  Maybe, I should reconsider and keep acting the way I have done for 59 years.  I like looking like I am still in my teens.  It’s okay that guys take a second look when I pass.  It’s okay that other drivers align their cars next to mine and try to get a longer look to figure out who this ‘chick’ is! Right!!!!!!!!!!!

Concentration on Taxes and Not Slimming

My concentration has been on doing my taxes and slimming has not been a priority, now.  This is my first time since I have been married that I am doing my own taxes.  No more of letting someone else do them.  I am saving at least $200 dollars for my husband and me  by doing them without the professional help.  Guess what!   Tax preparation  is easier to do than I had realized.  So, I need all the food sources to make me concentrate better and slimming has not been the top priority on my list.

Tuesday Was Hard for Blogging

Everytime I attempted to click in ‘Write Post’ it would not blog.  I don’t know if the system was busy.  Tonight it was very simple to blog.  I have successes which I am not ready to share, yet!  I am just continuing with the same plan: (1) Eat less carbs and eat more protein.  (2) Exercise more and drink more water.  It is paying off.

Count Down Until My 60th Birthday - 38 days to go!

How should I celebrate my 60th birthday?  Should I jog four miles?  How about eating a great big delicious salad with a candle on top?  If you can think of some unique ways to do this special birthday let me know!  I do know that I will be able to go into establishments and ask for a senior citizen discount without my husband (who has turned 70th.)  They say 60 is the new 40 and 50 is the new 30.  Thirty-eight days from now I will post my new picture.  You will get to see what I now look like or how I will look like in thirty-eight days.  I have gotten simmer and I hope sexier!  You can be the judge.  Please, be honest and fair.  I promise I will not get my feelings hurt!

Long Time No Hear from Bernice! Yes, I Am Back! :)

My life is fun of senior activities - being I am a senior.  I get ‘tons’ of exercise with the kinds of things that I do.  The missing ingredient was ‘low-carbing.’  It is like the beginning of the end when you practice this method.  I wanted to share with you this information.  I am doing much better since I have been using this method.  Just simply increase your protein intake and decrease your carb intake.  I am motivated to work with others and hopefully, you will hear from me more often.  Yes, I am back!

Stayed Out Too Long and Caught Something

I had been enjoying my new vegetable garden and I stayed out too long watering it and caught a cold or something!  It can’t be the flu, because I have had a Flu Shot.  I asked my husband to water it when I was just too sick to keep up with maintaining it.  It is providing what I need and the supermarkets are not seeing me buying any ‘produce’ since my garden is supplying what I need. Having the cold stopped me for two days from enjoying the garden!  I will try to have some pictures included, soon - so that you can see how my garden looks, lately!

They Are Out and Surviving

My vegetables have popped out of the ground and are doing well with the amount of watering that I have done.  I can’t wait to eat the delicious fresh vegetables.  I have gotten use to more uncooked vegetables.  I am going in the right directions with my hobby.  Now, the thing to do is to not allow myself to get use to eating any more foods that are not good for me!
